English Premier League team Nottingham Forest announced that Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) Chairman Michael Dugher is now on the Board of Directors.
Dugher worked as the BGC’s chief executive between December 2019 and April 2024
The club didn’t specifically mention his role at the UK gambling industry body in the press release on Tuesday. Dugher worked as the BGC’s chief executive between December 2019 and March 2024 before stepping in as chairman.
Before that, he was an MP, including holding the role of the Shadow Secretary of State for the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport. Dugher is a lifelong Nottingham Forest fan and labeled his appointment to the board as “a huge honor and a privilege.”
The club isn’t any stranger to the gambling world, as its current front-of-shirt sponsor is online gambling platform operator Kaiyun Sports. Betway is also on board as the team’s official sports betting partner.
