Los Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers won a $514,837 jackpot at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. In town to celebrate both his and his mother’s birthday, this is one gift that doesn’t need wrapping.

Rivers was playing Three Card Poker when hit a royal flush between his three-card hand and the dealer’s three cards. The prize was part of a mega progressive jackpot pooled by each of Caesars Entertainment’s nine properties in Las Vegas, with players making a $5 side bet to participate.

The 24-year-old said that he plans is to use his winnings to buy a new home. As he is not a star player on the Rams roster, he isn’t as high of an earner as many of his teammates, though his rookie salary is still approximately $705,000.

Rivers signed joined the Rams practice squad in September after being cut by both the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. He bounced between the practice squad and active roster a couple times before finding a permanent home on the active roster in late November. In limited playing time, Rivers had five catches and nine carries.
