International Game Technology (IGT) is expanding its services in the United States thanks to a new partnership deal with the Oneida Nation in Wisconsin. IGT will use its PlaySports platform to offer sports betting services at the Oneida Casino located on the tribe’s reservation lands just outside of Green Bay.

The casino will use PlaySports for retail and mobile services. The deal announcement comes after the Oneida Nation was approved in the state to offer sports betting, the first tribe to be given the green light.

IGT uses its PlaySports platform to operate retail betting via kiosks. The self-service kiosks provide players with a large screen for placing wagers and accept cash as payment, making it easy to post bets. With kiosks, operators can offer shorter wait times at the sportsbook and increase the number of on-site wagers.
IGT PlayDigital Senior Vice President Enrico Drago commented on the new partnership, applauding the Oneida Nation for being the first Wisconsin tribe to complete a new compact that includes sports betting. Drago stated further that his company is committed to supporting Oneida’s sports betting vision and looks forward to a successful launch and sustainable services.
Oneida Casino Gaming General Manager Louise Cornelius added: “We look forward to partnering with IGT to introduce sports betting to our loyal patrons and becoming the first casino in Wisconsin to operate a sportsbook.”
IGT PlaySports is the most used B2B platform in the United States. The company services more than 40 betting locations in 16 states.
Additional IGT sports betting deals
Over the past few months, IGT has been busy working on new deals in the sports betting sector. The brand secured several new partnerships in July, including one with the Snoqualmie Casino in Washington State. IGT will provide the Snoqualmie venue with retail and online sports betting as with the Oneida deal.
Sportsbook construction began in June and the casino now waits for the go-ahead to launch. The venue should be pretty popular among sports fans of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and MLB’s Seattle Mariners, as the casino is the closest one to Seattle that will offer sports betting.
In July, IGT announced a new deal with Ute Mountain Casino Hotel in Colorado to supply its PlaySports platform, kiosks, and turnkey services to the property. The casino will benefit from the deal as IGT plans to provide offers and promotions to drive growth and sustain loyalty.
