Betting operator makes PA debut
Betfred USA Sports has opened a retail sportsbook at Pennsylvania’s Wind Creek Bethlehem hotel-casino. The facility marks Betfred’s Pennsylvania debut and the first sportsbook for US casino operator Wind Creek Hospitality.

The new Betfred outlet has two state-of-the-art video walls, three betting windows, eight self-service betting kiosks, and 31 individual televisions. There are also several viewing areas and a sports pub for food and drinks. The facility takes up what was previously the space occupied by Buddy V’s Ristorante.
A formal grand opening will take place on November 21 for invited guests. In the next few weeks, a Betfred-powered online sportsbook will also launch via Wind Creek Casino’s mobile apps.
A burgeoning partnership
Betfred and Wind Creek Bethlehem signed their sports betting partnership deal in January 2020. On the day of the sportsbook opening, Betfred USA Sports COO Bryan Bennet said of the operator’s Pennsylvania market entry: “Pennsylvania is a massive sports betting market, and we look forward to making Wind Creek Bethlehem a go-to destination for sports bettors.”
Wind Creek Hospitality CEO and president Jay Dorris said the new retail sportsbook will help deliver a first-class sports betting experience in a high-energy environment at the Bethlehem property.
Wind Creek Bethlehem already has an online casino up and running. The Pala Interactive-powered platform launched in August and has teamed up with leading game suppliers such as NetEnt.
Betfred’s US market presence
Betfred USA Sports has opened three branded sportsbooks across three US states to date in 2020. The operator is the wholly owned subsidiary of the UK-based Betfred Group, launching in 2019 to capitalize on the expanding US sports betting market.?

The company’s US arm already has retail and online sportsbooks operational through the Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado, and the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Iowa. Betfred USA Sports also became a sports betting partner of the Denver Broncos NFL team in June. The deal includes a Betfred betting lounge outside the team’s Empower Field at Mile High home stadium.
The sportsbook brand also plans to launch its retail and online sports betting service in Nevada at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, pending regulatory approval. The Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment-operated property is set to open in early 2021.
